Security Manager Talent Pool: Various locations
About the pool:
MAG is committed to the safety and security of our staff, partners, and communities while we respond to changes across the global humanitarian landscape. We are seeking the expertise of practiced professionals to respond to new and recurring needs in the field. As a member of our pre-vetted pool, you will provide short-term assistance at the regional and country programme level to ensure that MAG’s security management framework is implemented, managed, and monitored consistently. You will have the opportunity to deploy to our programmes across the globe and support our lifesaving work at the field level.
Specific terms:
As a member of the pool, you will consent to your details being held by MAG until 31st December 2026. Towards the end of 2026, we will reach to all pool members to confirm we can continue to keep your data for these purposes for another year. If we do not receive a response, or if you request to be removed from the pool, your data will be deleted. Pool members can also request that they be removed from the pool, and have their personal data deleted, at any time.
When deployment opportunities/assignments are identified, all relevant members of the pool will be contacted to confirm availability. In the event that multiple members are available, an interview with the relevant programme team will be arranged to determine the suitable member to be deployed.
The duration of assignments is intended to not exceed 12 weeks. The duration of each deployment will be pre-agreed by parties in advance of deployment, and will be determined by the nature of support required. Deployment destinations are determined by needs, and the pool covers all MAG programmes worldwide. Membership to the pool does not automatically guarantee employment or deployment.
About you:
You will be an experienced security management professional with significant experience working in high-risk environments and demonstrable experience managing critical incidents. You will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams as well as to influence and negotiate in complex circumstances. English language skills are essential, and additional language skills are advantageous. You will have security training experience and the ability to advise and support field staff positively, inclusively, and consultatively. You will be self-motivated and able to work under pressure, with demonstrable analysis skills including open source and geospatial intelligence. Areas of operations are often remote with basic amenities, so you will need to be able to deal with living and working in challenging environments.
