Purpose:
The Bikes Against Bombs cycle challenge events started in 2015, and since then over 130 professionals from the wholesale, convenience and FMCG sector have taken part in 10 rides across Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Sri Lanka, the UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina and most recently Tanzania since then. The rides have helped to raise vital unrestricted funds for MAG each year with an extraordinary £1.55million raised for MAG so far!
In March 2026, we are holding the 11thBikes against Bombs cycle challenge in Sri Lanka and we are looking to engage a temporary consultant to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of that ride. The consultant will provide short-term expertise and capacity to ensure successful execution, stakeholder engagement, and achievement of fundraising goals whilst enabling the Head of Philanthropy and wider fundraising team to remain focused on other core philanthropy fundraising activity.
Scope:
We are seeking support to deliver the Sri Lanka Cycle Challenge, with the goal of achieving fundraising targets, building visibility, and strengthening partnerships. The consultant will work with the Head of Global Philanthropy to deliver oversight of logistics for the Cycle Challenge, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, providing support and preparation prior to the event, and providing support and follow-up after the event.
The expected time demand is 1 working day per week (or equivalent) until mid-April 2026.
Person Specification:
You must have experience running similar charitable events, ideally challenge events either overseas or in the UK. You should be familiar with the charity sector, with knowledge of event and corporate fundraising guidelines. You should have strong organisational skills, especially planning and logistical support. You should be an excellent communicator over a range of mediums, including relationship-building and drafting fundraising copy. You should be a self-starter, capable of working autonomously and effectively prioritising to achieve on deadlines.
Further Information:
This role is based in the UK, therefore, a pre-existing right to work in the UK is a requirement and MAG will not be able to sponsor visa applications. Please note that if you have not declared your right to work in the UK on your application, we will not be able to consider you for this role.
