MAG (Mines Advisory group) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees, Ms Anna Bertmar Khan and Sir Ralph Wooddisse KCB CBE MC.

Anna Bertmar Khan brings more than 25 years of humanitarian leadership experience across conflict-affected and high-risk environments. She has held senior roles with organisations including Médecins Sans Frontières, BRAC, Plan International, the United Nations and Dubai Cares. She brings deep expertise in building strategic partnerships that mobilise funding and drive innovation to deliver large-scale humanitarian impact.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Bertmar Khan said: “I have always been deeply drawn to teams and organisations that are uncompromising on humanitarian values and staffed by professionals who are singularly focused on delivering concrete, tangible and life-saving assistance where it is most needed. That is exactly what MAG offers, which is why I am delighted to be appointed to its Board.”

Sir Ralph Wooddisse joins the Board following a 35-year career in the British Army. Currently serving as Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, he has held senior roles across the UK Ministry of Defence and has served in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. His recent work has focused on NATO and European security, including support to Ukraine.

Reflecting on his new role, Sir Ralph said: “Having seen first-hand the effects of landmines, I understand the damage and deadly legacy these remnants of war inflict. Through its life-changing work, MAG helps people afflicted by landmines and explosive ordnance to live and prosper, without fear of injury or death. I am very proud to offer my expertise and support to this vital mission.”
