How do you control any fear every time you face your next mine? 

"We're not really afraid. When I find an explosive device, my heart beats faster, but that's only because I'm glad I found an item, and it doesn't happen every single day." Iryna, Ukraine 

Why did you make this choice to work as a Deminer? 

"After I left the army (which I joined in 2022 as a volunteer). Then I felt useless and decided to join MAG to help my country. It needs recovery as well as people who experience this merciless war." Vadym, Ukraine

 What type of clothes do you need to wear to do your job safely? 

"The type of clothes I need to do my job safely are, uniform, boots, waterproof boots, visor, jacket, plastic coat for rain, gloves and mask."

How do you explain to your family and loved ones that your work is so important that you risk your life? 

"That the importance of my job is to save lives for all populations and the whole world, so that the country can grow and develop to improve life conditions for my family, to build new schools, hospitals and other infrastructures."

You are some of the bravest people on earth! How do you steady your nerves to do what you do?

"I can steady my nerve sharply because I love my job, try my best to do my job, think far ahead and be fully focused while performing my work duty." Chin Rata, Cambodia

As a Deminer, how do you feel after clearing a minefield and handing over the land to the community?

"I feel happy that I can contribute to the communities, helping them safe from mine and UXOs, providing safe land for farming and helping to have better livelihoods." Ya Sokhon, Cambodia
