Gaza ceasefire: How we're keeping returning people safe

After 24 months of relentless bombardment, it is with huge relief that a ceasefire in Gaza has been agreed.

People are desperate to return to their homes, but the situation is devastating. Whole communities are reduced to rubble. Homes, hospitals and schools, depleted. And hidden amongst the vast debris, unexploded bombs.

We are urgently working with our partner organisation, Save Youth Future Society (SYFS), to deliver in-person risk education to returning people. Working in pairs and alone, our colleagues are speaking to displaced people in the south and as they travel north along the coastal road. Trained members of the teams are also offering psychological support to traumatised families.

We are also launching urgent safety messages online across Gaza, aiming to reach hundreds of thousands of residents with crucial information on how to identify explosives and how to stay safe.

Please help us as we do what we can to make people in Gaza and other places across the world affected by conflict, safe. Donate now.
