Total salary is dependent on location of work. The averagepackage for these positions is £70,156 GBP (approx. $81,380 USD) per annum, including basic salary and relevant allowances.

About the roles

Our Technical Field Managers are the core of our work. The aim of the post will be to implement all aspects of mine clearance and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operations and related tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures and as directed by the Technical Operations Manager (TOM). The post holder will provide training, evaluation, and daily monitoring of all technical operations staff to ensure safe practices and build local capacity for humanitarian mine action activities. In addition, you will support the TOM in ensuring overall safe execution of all MAG technical activities within the country.

About you:

Successful candidates must have technical knowledge of mines/unexploded ordnance and mine clearance techniques, including new developments. You must be EOD qualified and have experience of working in mine clearance/EOD operations in developing or conflict affected countries that are contaminated by remnants of conflict, and of managing field operations. You will be experienced in leading, motivating and managing a diverse team of people, and in mentoring and coaching others. You will also have experience of conducting formal or informal training and the transfer of appropriate skills to others and the ability to contribute technical knowledge and clearance targets to proposals and reports. The ability to develop, review and comply with security and technical Standard Operating Procedures is essential.

Postholder will be innovative, proactive, and committed to high quality standards and continually improving effectiveness and efficiency. You will be able to establish and develop effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally and to represent and promote MAG. In addition, you will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate activities and projects.  Experience of working independently for extended periods of time in ‘stand-alone’ environments with minimal supervision is required.

  •  Salary: Total pay is dependent on role location.  The average starting reward package for these positions is approx. £70,156 GBP (approx. $81,380 USD) per annum including all allowances, and this increases with service.   • Accommodation: MAG will provide accommodation in-country.
  • Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You'll have a minimum of six weeks out of the programme per year. This increases in hardship and hardship+ locations.
  • Flights: MAG provides a minimum of three international flights home per year.
  • Insurance: All international staff are automatically covered by MAG's comprehensive insurance package including: Personal accident and medical expenses insurance; Death by natural causes insurance and access to 24-hour medical assistance including evacuation and repatriation
