MAG supports the development of countries emerging from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury. Some of the countries we are currently working across in Southeast Asia are Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
About the role:
Our Technical Field Managers are the core of our work and actively manage and lead our teams of national staff to safely implement our life saving minefield clearance, BAC and EOD projects. Locations of roles can vary, with some being located in main provincial town where there are many amenities available and others in remote areas, working in contexts away from home comforts. You must be qualified to the equivalent of EOD level 3, with significant experience in the technical and operational management of minefield clearance operations, including task planning and prioritisation, writing and reviewing SOPs, assessing clearance methodology and reviewing operational structures. You will also be experienced in leading teams involved in minefield clearance operations, with proven experience in selecting and deploying a range of assets including manual clearance teams, mechanical assets and Animal Detection Systems. Previous experience of working for a similar organisation, either in the humanitarian or commercial sector is essential. Furthermore, you will have previously delivered EOD 1, 2 and 3 training courses, and be able to mentor and capacity build national staff. You will have a good understanding of information management systems and data analysis to improve operational planning, setting priorities and monitoring of clearance activities. MAG takes the conduct of its staff very seriously, and therefore you will also be required to demonstrate impeccable conduct and respect for others, and the cultures in which we work.
