Regional Programme Support Manager – East and Southern Africa

UK (with international travel)

Starting salary for this position is £46,860 per annum (plus contributory pension)

About the role:

You will work with our programmes in East and Southern Africa, including Angola, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, and developing projects, to support operational delivery of contractual and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will work with Programmes staff to ensure the regional portfolio is delivering high quality donor reports and proposals, as well as assisting in the development of the regional portfolio, providing support to assessments to new country locations, and identifying, developing and delivering cross-cutting projects in key strategic areas such as gender, conflict sensitivity and the environment. You will also support the Regional Directors and Country Directors in core programming areas, including contract delivery, incident management, disciplinary investigations, stakeholder management and communication. This is a challenging and varied role, offering the opportunity to use your wide-ranging management experience to influence programmatic and organisational activities.

About you:

You will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential, and experience working in mine action sector or within the East and Southern Africa region would be advantageous. You should have a good understanding of the economic, social, and development context within the region. You will be a strong communicator over a range of mediums, with outstanding networking, influencing, and negotiation skills. You will be experienced in project delivery, including contract and legal compliance.
