Programme Support Officer - Middle East & Europe (Fixed Term 12 months)

Manchester City Centre, with significant travel overseas

Starting salary for this position is £25,272 per annum (plus contributory pension)

We are currently seeking a Programme Support Officer to provide support to MAG’s lifesaving programmes in the Middle East & Europe. Reporting to the Programme Support Coordinator (Middle East & Europe), and working closely with the Regional Director along with managers based overseas, you will support a challenging portfolio of international programmes in the Middle East & Europe. The role incorporates key aspects of grant administration and grant management, as well as donor and partner relations and information management, providing the opportunity to test your skills in a truly international role.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with experience writing reports and proposals, including experience of working with a wide range of institutional donors. Excellent planning and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential for this role. With excellent project design and planning skills, along with interpersonal skills, you will be creative, flexible, solution-focused, professional and committed to MAG's goals. Experience of working overseas and particularly in the Middle East would be beneficial but not essential.

While we are not expecting the post-holder to have an understanding of the technical issues related to mine clearance; what is more important is your commitment to international humanitarian and capacity building principles. The role will be based in Manchester City Centre and will involve a high level of overseas travel to the Middle East & Europe, possibly at short notice.
