Head of Programme Finance (Maternity cover – 12 months fixed term)
The starting salary for this position is £50,030 per annum (plus contributory pension)

We are seeking a fully qualified Head of Programme Finance to lead our Programme Finance team, which provides day-to-day financial support and advice to MAG’s programmes in countries across the globe. This is an exciting and dynamic role, which will require very strong influencing skills, with the overriding objective of delivering strong financial control for MAG’s global programmes.
Reporting to the Director of Finance you will be responsible for managing the UK based programmes finance team, providing financial advice, support and assurance in the development and monitoring of MAG’s international programme activities as well as overseeing financial planning, analysis and reporting across our global programmes. You will also foster a culture of financial business partnering with operational teams adding value that will assist in decision making and the delivery of MAG’s lifesaving work.
You will be based in MAG’s HQ in Manchester, managing your team, overseeing MAG’s financial control, monitoring and reporting for MAG’s global programmes. You will occasionally be required to travel to support our programmes overseas. This may be, for example, two or three one week visits per year to our programmes in Southeast Asia, the Middle East or Africa.
The successful candidate will have previously worked in a senior finance role in a grant or donor funded environment with experience of managing a team. You’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills and have a strong background in financial modelling and contract management, with experience of major donors. You will be committed to continual improvement and supporting and developing your team.
This is a fast-paced and challenging role, which will require high levels of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. With an ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, ensuring effective communication between various stakeholders, you will be a creative, flexible and solution-focused.
