HR Officer (Programmes –West Africa and Latin America regions)

Starting salary for this position is £25,272 per annum (plus contributory pension)

The successful candidate can choose to work from MAG’s Manchester office or to work from home within the UK, with occasional attendance in the office, as required.

We are seeking a HR Officer to join our UK HR team on a permanent basis, supporting MAG’s programmes in the West Africa and Latin America regions. This is an exciting and dynamic role, where your HR & recruitment skills and can-do attitude will help us make a real difference, supporting our lifesaving work across the globe.

Based in the United Kingdom, but working with managers based overseas, one of your key challenges will be to source, recruit and deploy staff to our programmes in West Africa and Latin America. You will also have responsibility for providing generalist HR advice on terms and conditions and the application of HR policy.  You will have the opportunity to support the development of new HR projects and initiatives. You will report to a HR Manager in this fast-paced role within a dynamic and collaborative HR team, which will require a high level of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. This is an opportunity to use your HR and/or recruitment experience for an international charity. You may also have the opportunity to visit MAG’s programmes, should it be of interest to you, but it’s not essential to the role.

You will need to have experience of providing an efficient recruitment service and of working with a range of stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to take the next step in their HR/resourcing career - previous experience of working in international HR is not necessary, but you will need to rely on your varied HR/resourcing experience. Above all, you will need to be approachable, flexible, have a good eye for detail and be ready to work in a busy and varied role in a fast-paced environment. You will also recognise that good HR practice can make a real difference to MAG’s success in saving lives and building futures.

French language skills are highly desirable with Spanish language skills beneficial.
