Through this you will conduct systematic and accountable monitoring and compliance assessments, including mentoring key personnel and performing essential maintenance, servicing, and armouring. You will also use your expertise to represent MAG at the international level, ensuring that we continue to develop and innovate to enable the communities we work with to build a safer, and more sustainable, future.

About you:

You will have senior experience in humanitarian mine action operations, specifically in mechanically integrated clearance, including previous experience advising on machine implementation to improve safety and efficiency. You will be hands-on, with experience maintaining and managing mechanic workshops and expert knowledge of operating HMA related machinery. You will have experience in materials science, particularly in heavy machinery armouring and the research and development of HMA operations-related machinery. You will be a leader with strong collaboration and networking skills both in-person and online, and the capacity to guide and mentor your colleagues at all levels. You will be a confident communicator and capacity builder, proficient in developing procedures and training modules for heavy machinery.

*This is a ‘roving’ role, which means that you will be expected to be visiting MAG’s programmes for 60% of your working time or more. When not travelling or in a MAG programme, you will be based at home. MAG will consider applications from candidates who are based in any country, however, the final decision on whether employment in a specific country location can be supported will be based on a compliance and budget check and be reviewed by MAG’s senior management.  You should therefore clearly set out the country that you would wish to be based remotely in.
