Hi Everyone,

The Daisy Green Launch Party last night at ArtWorks Gallery In Newcastle was fabulous!

Nicola (aka Daisy Green personified) & the Daisy Green Team did an amazing job, and raised over £400 for our MAG fund! What an amzing effort for a new start business! Girls we salute youInnocent

Daisy is of course,  insisting on off setting our Carbon emmisions for usWink Thanks Daisy!

Well done girls, everyone had a great time, the venue was packed... the fashion show was brilliant... none of us girls fell over modelling... and I think I have mentally bought at least 2 dresses, 2 coats  & a suitKiss

I even met a few people who had recently been to Cambodia, or done voluntary work in other countries not as fortunate as our own... really motivating, and great to hear their own stories about some of the places  & people I will see in less than 6 months... thankyou to everyone who had something motivating to say to me, and of course everyone who donated so generously.Money mouth

The 'swop it party' was a great success too - I have never seen so many girls run so fast when it opened - and not a drop of bubbly spilt as they ran either! everyone obviously had their eyes on something special, and later you could see girls clutching their prizes with much pride, planning when to wear their free new outfit (this weekend I suspect!)

I got to wear a fabulous dress made entirely from MAG flyers, and then later, gave a short speech wearing my MAG deminers jacket I had borrowed especially for the occasion! And boy was it hot & sweaty - even on a chilly Newcastle night. Of couse I told everyone how much the MAG deminers have inspired me during my recovery. I really didn't think I could admire the deminers any more than I did already, but wearing that jacket for an hour or so, really made me think about the smaller details of the role of a deminer, and not only how dangerous it is - but how it really is physically hard work too! I didn't wear all the full armour plating (thanks for the advice Lesley - you were right!), and took the heavy helmet off to make my speech -  but it was still heavy, hot and difficult to move... made me think, why would anyone agree to do this job? often in extreme heat too... and then of course I remembered... to save lives... and when you think of it like that... how could you refuse?  So I'm looking forward even more, to providing a home for some of those brave men & women who inspire me everyday - Cambodia here I come!

Keep the cash rolling in PLEASE - remeber just £15 decontaminates 10 square meters of land!

You can check out whats so hot about Daisy Green on the new Magazine site, which was launched last night at the party.

What I really love about these girls is they aren't your usual 'eco Warriors' these girls have fab clothes, killer heels & lipstick, and don't preach, because its a way of life for them, I guess.  They live the eco dream without loosing out on all the material trappings we sometimes feel we need to have, and they do it with style. Kiss

When I'm with Nicola, I just can't help thinking that if Carrie Bradshaw (SITC) recycled & composted, I have found her long lost twin here in Newcastle!

Thanks so much Nicola, and all the DG girls - can't wait for the next Daisy Green event

Love Lisa x
