International staff
The majority of our international staff are appointed on open-ended contracts, offering you job security and the chance to develop with us.
MAG’s salaries are competitive and increase with service. Our salaries are fixed in sterling but we will convert to whichever currency your bank account is held. (Please note that MAG cannot be responsible for any fluctuations in exchange rates)
In recognition of the harsh conditions in some of our country programmes international staff in some designated MAG programmes will receive:
• A hardship allowance in addition to their monthly salary;
• Additional hardship leave depending on location
As well as your monthly salary, all International staff receive a cost of living allowance as a contribution to daily living costs. This is paid monthly with your salary.
Accommodation or the equivalent cost is provided in all locations.
In addition to statutory holidays, there is an annual leave entitlement of six weeks per annum which increases with service to eight weeks per annum.
MAG will provide you with three return flights home per year.
MAG will cover the cost of any visas, residency or work permits that you need for your deployment.
We hope you won’t get ill, but if you do you may receive MAG discretionary company sick pay.
MAG will provide you with comprehensive travel health advice appropriate for your deployment and we will cover any reasonable costs incurred in getting any necessary inoculations.
All international staff are automatically covered by MAG’s comprehensive insurance package including:
• Personal accident and medical expenses insurance;
• Death by natural causes insurance;
• Access to 24-hour medical assistance including evacuation and repatriation
MAG takes the health and welfare of all staff seriously and we recognize that working overseas can be physically and emotionally demanding. We have a range of initiatives in place that will assist you to manage your heath and welfare while you're working for MAG.
This includes pre-deployment medical assessments and travel health information, a health and welfare handbook offering advice and guidance on a wide range of related subjects including travel health, stress and personal safety. New staff deploying overseas will be issued with a First Aid Kit during their HQ induction
MAG is a member of Interhealth's Travel Well Plan that offers a range of benefits to all employees including access to the comprehensive Travel Health Advice Centre (THAC).
HQ Staff
The majority of our HQ staff are appointed on open ended contracts, offering you job security and the chance to develop with us.
You will be eligible to join MAG’s group personal pension scheme, to which MAG pays a matching contribution of up to five per cent of annual salary.
In addition to UK bank holidays, there is an annual leave entitlement of five weeks per annum which increases with service to six weeks per annum.
We hope you won’t get ill, but if you do you may receive MAG discretionary company sick pay.
All HQ staff are automatically covered by MAG’s comprehensive insurance package:
• Death by natural causes insurance;
• Personal accident insurance.
If you travel overseas with MAG you will also be covered by:
• Access to 24-hour medical assistance including evacuation and repatriation.
MAG's child care voucher scheme enables you to save Tax and National Insurance on the cost of registered carers including child minders, nannies, play schemes or nurseries. By using the scheme, parents and carers of children up to the age of 16 can save up to £1,195 per year.
Our office is based in Manchester city centre within easy reach of Oxford Road and Piccadilly train stations [map].
If you're asked to travel overseas on MAG business you will be given a range of useful information to help you stay safe and well during your trip. Regular travelers will also be entitled to a First Aid Kit prior to international travel.
