Volunteering opportunities

International

MAG does not use volunteers in our programmes. This is because, in line with our capacity building objectives, MAG’s programmes aim for local ownership of all functions by employing and training local staff to allow them to contribute, in the broadest sense, to the rehabilitation of their own country.

In addition to demining training, MAG provides national staff with vocational skills that will help to support them upon completion of humanitarian mine action activities. Employing international volunteers overseas would restrict the number of opportunities for local staff to be employed by MAG.
