A high-level delegation from MAG is present at the 'Cartagena Summit on a Mine-Free World' in Colombia this week.
The summit is the second five-year Review Conference of the Mine Ban Treaty, aimed at evaluating progress made in the 10 years since the Treaty came into force, and how to achieve the ultimate goal of a mine-free world.

In attendance are government representatives, development experts, campaigners and representatives of Mine Action organisations who conduct the actual mine clearance around the world. Throughout the summit, which runs until 4 December, discussions are being held on the specifics around landmine clearance, stockpile destruction and victim assistance.
As one of the leading humanitarian mine action organisations MAG has also set up a photo-exhibition at the summit. The exhibition – Surviving the Peace – is set in 14 countries and the images, captured by MAG’s photographer Sean Sutton, tell the story of the struggles and triumphs of survivors as they emerge from war and face new challenges in the aftermath of violence.
The summit is being held in Colombia, where MAG recently started operations. More information can be found here: MAG in Colombia
