MAG starts operations in Rwanda

MAG is to provide technical assistance and training to the Rwandan Army and Police in the management and destruction of surplus weapons, unexploded ordnance and small arms ammunition stockpiles.

The project will help reduce the risk of death and injury to local communities, and lessen the threat of violent crime to the wider population.

Explosion threat reduced as naval weapons destroyed in DRC

MAG has destroyed 1,170 items of ammunition in Banana, Democratic Republic of Congo as part of its Conventional Weapons Management and Disposal programme.

The surplus naval stocks posed a high risk of explosion which could have killed or severely injured 3,500 people.
