MAG is a humanitarian organisation, working in conflict and former conflict zones to reduce the devastating effects of armed violence and the remnants of conflict for the benefit of local communities. We release land back to the local population, thereby enabling recovery and assisting further development and we tackle poverty by training and employing local staff. We take a community focused approach to our work, maximising the benefits of our work for local families and workers. MAG is seeking a Logistics Manager to support its programme in DRC.
MAG has been working in DRC since 2004 and following a period of significant expansion, it is now one of MAG's largest programmes. Reporting to the Country Director, the Logistics Manager will plan, coordinate and monitor equipment purchases and deployments, build the capacity of national logistics staff and develop, implement and maintain effective control systems for the extensive resources used by the programme. The postholder will also contribute to logistical planning and to the procurement components of funding proposals as well as ensuring accurate and timely reporting and compliance with MAG and donor procedures.
The successful candidate should have previous experience in working in a similar role, with experience in reporting, implementing and managing control systems and capacity building national staff. You will also need previous experience of working in a developing country, preferably within the region and an understanding of the constraints and challenges this imposes.
This position is based in Kinshasa but will require frequent travel to MAG bases across DRC. Due to the location, this position requires a fluent French and English speaker.
