Finance Managers - various locations

£26,586 - £29,052 per annum (plus accommodation and per diem)

As MAG's programmes expand and develop, we welcome applications from high achieving, experienced Finance Managers.

Based overseas, Finance Managers are responsible for managing the country programme finance departments, maintaining effective control of all financial matters in multi-donor, multi-project programmes with extensive assets and staff. This involves financial planning as well as ensuring accurate and timely reporting and compliance with MAG financial procedures. The Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving financial management and internal control systems, managing and building capacity of finance national staff.

The Finance Manager must assume overall responsibility for comprehensive Donor/Project files, ensuring that all paperwork related to proposals, budgets, contracts, financial and operational correspondence and reports is present and correct. The Finance Manager will monitor and control current expenditure to ensure that it stays within available funding and agreed budgets and highlight, as appropriate, under / over spends and agree actions required. The Finance Manager will be responsible for in-country cash flow requirements and will submit monthly funds requests to MAG HQ, ensuring that donor funds are tracked and that cash balances held in country are kept to a minimum.

• Are a fully qualified accountant with prior experience in a similar role;

• Are able to demonstrate an ability to report in a timely and accurate manner;

• Possess management skills to deal with a large team and a myriad of tasks;

• Have an outgoing personality with excellent communication and training skills;

• Are a good team player, flexible and capable of working with an international country team;

• Possess an awareness of personal security, cultural sensitivity and a diplomatic manner.
