1. Work out the value of your estate - this doesn't need to be exact but a list of approximate values of everything you own such as property, vehicles and bank accounts, and all outstanding debts such as mortgages and loans will be useful when approaching a solicitor
2. Appoint your executors - these are the people named in your Will who are responsible for carrying out your instructions, which includes distributing your estate in accordance with your wishes. You solicitor can advise you on who the best people are to choose
3. Decide on your beneficiaries - choose the friends and family you would like to make provisions for. Make a list of their full names and addresses for your solicitor. You may also want to help a charity that is important to you, such as MAG
4. Visit your solicitor - they will help to draw up your Will and will advise you on the rules regarding signing your Will

5. Make a copy - keep a copy of your Will safe for future reference and make a note of where you keep the details of bank accounts, investments and any other financial information related to it
6. Keep your Will in a safe place - your solicitor will often store the Will itself without a charge, or you could keep it at your bank
7. Finally, let us know your intentions - if you have chosen to remember MAG in your Will, please let us know your intentions by completing the pledge card attached to the back page of this booklet
Your pledge to leave money to MAG is not legally binding, but it really helps us plan for the future if we are aware of your intentions. Remember, you can change your Will at anytime.
