The total salary package for these positions ranges from £36,200 - £49,600* (circa $57,200 - $78,300*) including basic salary, per diem and, dependant on location, a hardship allowance and programme management allowance.

MAG saves and improves lives by reducing the devastating effects that armed violence and the remnants of conflict have on communities around the world. We are seeking applications from experienced managers to lead our programmes, with vacancies currently available in a number of our Africa based programmes.

As a Country Director, you will be MAG's most senior representative in-country, with overall oversight and responsibility for the robust management of current projects, as well as the development of new activities. Responsibilities will include strategic business planning, compliance with local regulations, staff management, developing relationships with key stakeholders, strategic financial management, and overseeing logistical support.

Applicants should have previous strategic and senior management experience in an international context, including expertise in programme and project design, development and management. Successful candidates should have the experience and diplomacy to work within complicated national and internal political frameworks as well as experience of working effectively with local partners.

You don't need previous experience in mine action and we welcome applications from experienced programme managers from any development sector.

• Salary
: The total salary package for these positions ranges from £36,200 - £49,600* (circa $57,200 - $78,300*) including basic salary, per diem and, dependant on location, a hardship allowance and programme management allowance. *Please see the general information for terms and conditions related to this.
• Accommodation: MAG will provide accommodation in-country.
• Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You'll have a minimum of six weeks annual leave per year. Your entitlement to annual leave also rises with service. Some programmes also enjoy an additional two "Breather Break" weeks per year.
• Flights: MAG provides three international flights home per year, plus two additional regional flights for Breather Breaks, where appropriate.
• Career Development: You'll be appointed on a global open-ended contract, offering you job security, with opportunities to work in different MAG programmes should you wish to develop a long term career with us.
• Insurance: All international staff are automatically covered by MAG's comprehensive insurance package including: personal accident and medical expenses insurance; death by natural causes insurance and access to 24-hour medical assistance including evacuation and repatriation.
