(plus accommodation and per diem)

We are currently recruiting a Community Liaison Manager to work in our programme in Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This is an interesting role that will involve supporting and building the capacity of Humanitas Ubangi, a local mine action partner organisation. You will support 4 Community Liaison teams and increase their ability to independently manage teams and increase their understanding of training needs and methodologies. You will also provide on-going support and training to national staff Community Liaison Officers to help them manage and implement Community Liaison activities with minimal external support.

You will need to have:

• experience of successfully implementing Community Liaison projects in relation to Mine Action
• excellent communication and negotiation skills in a variety of cultural settings.
• experience of capacity building and mentoring national staff
• strong participatory learning and facilitation skills;
• experience of working overseas in a development context;
• experience of designing and delivering culturally appropriate training programmes;
• good spoken and written English language and French skills.

You will also need to be a self-starter with the desire and will to see through changes that can have huge impact on the lives of those affected by mines and UXO in DRC. French language skills are required for this role.

This is a field based position, based in Gemena. Areas of operations are often remote with basic amenities. You will need to be able to deal with living and working in such a challenging environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a programme that has experienced a period of expansion in recent months. Humanitarian Mine Action and the DDR process in DRC are critical to the ongoing efforts to reconstruct and rehabilitate a country devastated by years of conflict. This vacancy is available immediately.

We regularly recruit Community Liaison Managers to work across our programmes, we are therefore interested to hear from you even if you are currently not available.
