VIETNAM: MAG on TV

Documentary interest in MAG's operations

Story and photographs provided by Rudi Kohnert

On 11, 13 and 14 April 2006, a documentary team from Quang Tri TV visited MAG operations to film various aspects of the project. Tran Dang Mau, the broadcasting director of Quang Tri TV and co-director of the film, was inspired to make the film having seen a newspaper article on one of our female deminers, Ms Ly (click to view the story).

The crew filmed a range of activities including the deployment of teams to clearance sites, female deminers clearing a resettlement area in Tan Hiep village and a team clearing an area at Nam Dang Primary school. They also featured bulk demolitions at Vinh Linh demolition range and mobile operations throughout the regions.

Tran Dang Mau is hoping to enter the film in a nationwide competition at some stage in the near future.
