The President of Puntland, His Excellency Dr. Abder Rahman Mahamed, has thanked MAG for its continuing support to the Puntland Police’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and the people of Puntland.

MAG was granted an audience with His Excellency on Monday, when he was very vocal in his support of those working to lessen the risk posed by remnants of conflict to rural and urban populations.
The President added that he hoped MAG could begin clearance of not only unexploded ordnance but also mined areas within Puntland.
Also present at the discussions were Puntland’s Minister of Security & Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Mr. Abbi Yasin, and Puntland Mine Action Centre’s Operations Manager Mr. Abdi Aziz.
