Emergency clearance of Mbandaka Airport
When unexploded shells, mortars and grenades littered the area surrounding Mbandaka Airport following a rebel attack, MAG responded quickly to reduce the risk of further bloodshed. (28 June 2010)

'I heard an explosion and ran out to find my son wounded'
Seven-year-old Amoni was at home with his family when someone started burning some vegetation near their house. Unable to resist the spectacle, Amoni ran out to watch the fire. Suddenly there was a loud explosion and he fell to the ground, bleeding and unconscious. (22 October 09)

DRC report - July 2009 report [PDF]
July saw the removal and destruction of 13,655 hazardous items; 1151 Dangerous Areas identified; and 325 Mine Risk Education sessions conducted, targeting 12,648 beneficiaries.

A landmine survivor's story
There was an explosion that knocked Benoit down. People nearby came running when they heard the explosion. Sanza had been killed on the spot. Benoit lay in his field bleeding. People put Benoit on a bicycle and transported him seven kilometres to the nearest hospital... (15 April 09)

Camp Ngashi operations continue
Three people were killed, 94 injured and more than 200 families displaced as a result of an explosion at an armed forces storage facility in June, requiring a dedicated emergency response. (12 November 07)

Securing peace in conflict-affected areas
MAG’s clearance and mine risk education operations in Kabuta ensure abandoned weapons will not be used by Mai Mai rebel forces and other combatants to refuel conflict. (19 September 07)
Helping returnees and residents
MAG has provided clearance and mine risk education along a principal road in the Mangbwala area, to help repatriate more than 8,000 refugees from the Republic of Congo. (6 September 07)
Building on peace
MAG teams have cleared Mukato of a stockpile of anti-tank shells, several hundred rounds of machine gun ammunition and a .50 calibre machine gun. (28 August 07)
International Gun Destruction Day

MAG goes from strength to strength
MAG DRC broke new ground during the month of August 2006 setting all time high figures for operations since work was first started in the country in June 2004. (20 September 06)
Leading the way
MAG cleared more land and destroyed more unexploded ordnance (including various landmines) than all of the other demining NGOs working in the country combined. (11 August 06)
Survey and clearance
MAG has become the first organisation of its kind to complete a pilot survey and clearance project in the isolated south-eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. (1 August 05)
Rapid response
