Audio: MAG Cambodia talks to Radio Australia

Listen to an interview with MAG Cambodia's Country Programme Manager Rupert Leighton on Radio Australia.

Cambodia is one of the most heavily mine- and unexploded ordnance (UXO)- contaminated countries in the world. The Landmine Impact Survey (LIS) of April 2002 identified over 4,000 square kilometres of suspect land, which poses a significant obstacle to rehabilitation and to longer-term development.

Although there are substantial quantities of UXO in the country, the major barrier to post-conflict rehabilitation is the presence of landmines, with an estimated 800 casualties per year.
